I know what it’s like to care for elderly parents. And I’ve seen so many friends and family members struggle emotionally and financially with the weight of caring for their elderly parents.

But Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are doing everything they can to make it harder for senior citizens to get by. They’ve blocked more than a million low-income seniors from getting lower Medicare premiums. They paid for their tax cuts for the wealthy by taking money away from nursing homes. They’ve constantly blocked proposals to help make home health care more affordable. And Democrats in Washington seem powerless to stop this.

That’s why I have a plan to make senior care more affordable for New Jersey families. I will push for more comprehensive coverage for home health care workers. I will turn back Donald Trump’s devastating cuts to health care. And I will protect Medicare and Social Security so that seniors receive the benefits they’ve earned their entire lives.

I see the housing crisis first-hand as I advocate for people who are facing eviction in one of the largest housing markets in the world. There is nothing more devastating than realizing you might get thrown out and on the street.

Young people can’t afford to buy a home, and working families are being priced out of the market. New Jersey housing prices have risen nearly 50 percent since 2019. Even if you rent, excessive junk fees and landlord price collusion are driving up your costs. As someone who rents in the 11th District, I understand what it’s like to see more and more of your income go towards housing, wondering if you’ll ever be able to afford to buy a home.

Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress see this crisis – and they choose to make it worse. They’ve cut federal housing programs to the bone, putting nearly 200,000 Americans at risk of homelessness. Trump’s disastrous economic policies are making housing even more expensive. He’s even pushing a 50 year mortgage to chain people to a home they will never own and interest payments that will never go away. And neither party in Washington is making the crisis a priority.

As someone who works every day to help people keep their homes, this fight is personal to me. That’s why I will work to put housing in reach by spurring the construction of more housing, reversing the cuts to affordable housing programs, and going after unscrupulous landlords.

Artificial intelligence has already changed our country – but Washington policymakers are barely paying attention.

AI offers lots of potential benefits, but the costs are piling up: massive layoffs as intelligent bots take workers’ jobs.  Skyrocketing energy bills as data farms suck up more power. Content creators losing control over their intellectual property as deepfakes proliferate. A small coterie of Silicon Valley tech bros are making a fortune while the rest of us deal with higher costs and job losses.

We need to ensure that today’s workers are trained for the jobs of tomorrow. We need to roll back Donald Trump’s war on clean energy so that we all have the power we need. And we need clear rules of the road so that AI doesn’t steal the work of writers and artists, and that tech companies adopt strong protections against the use of deepfakes and bot-generated content designed to confuse and divide us. That’s why creating a plan for AI will be one of my top priorities.

We are facing a crisis of democracy. One party has given itself over to a wanna-be autocrat who tries to rule by royal decree; the other party is too distracted by in-fighting  among out-of-touch incumbents to clearly communicate why democracy is worth fighting for.

I am not a politician. I am running because I see how this administration is destroying the American Dream and Congress isn’t doing anything to stop it. If we lose our democracy, we don’t get it back. And the people in power right now are simply not up to the task of saving it.

As your Congressman, I will use my national platform to speak the truth about the stakes we face, bring new people into this fight, fight to protect the Constitution, the rule of law and free and fair elections.

Members of Congress shouldn’t be getting filthy rich off the system. But today, it’s perfectly legal for them to buy and sell stocks in companies they regulate. Even worse, they can use inside information about government policies to game the market and make a killing.

People like us don’t have that privilege, and when the cost of living is at an all time high, the last thing we need are politicians making policy decisions that benefit their bottom line but hurt ours.

For years, members of Congress have refused to end this abuse of power. Even worse, some claim they can fix the problem with toothless “reforms” that don’t change the fundamental reality of the corruption.

No more half-measures: It’s time to ban stock trading by members of Congress.

Getting elected to Congress is supposed to be a public service, not a lifetime entitlement. But too many politicians remain in office long after they’ve lost touch with the voters who send them there. At a time when most Americans have little or no employment security, getting elected to Congress is a lifetime gig.

Why? Because our system makes it easy for them to win again and again and again. Thanks to gerrymandering, most incumbents don’t even face a serious challenge. The result is a rheumatic and sclerotic Congress filled with lifelong politicians living well off our tax dollars and well past their sell-by date.

That’s why I support term limits for the House and the Senate. And that’s why I will term-limit myself because the last thing that the 11th district needs is an incumbent who doesn’t know when it’s time to pass the baton.

Partisan gerrymandering is destroying our democracy. Not only do most members of Congress have little or no opposition from the other side, but gerrymandering encourages candidates to be the most extreme versions of themselves in order to win over the base. It’s no wonder that Congress is totally unable to meet the moment on the issues that affect our country.

This year we’ve seen Republicans in red states push through gerrymandering to protect their majority in Congress; Democrats in blue states have had no choice but to respond. We need to end partisan gerrymandering once and for all.

I will fight to end mid-decade redistricting and see that nonpartisan redistricting commissions take place in red, blue, and purple states. That’s the only way to make the U.S. House truly become the People’s House once again.

When it comes to the climate crisis, I believe in watching what people do, not just what they say. I use public transportation every day and offset my apartment’s energy needs with wind energy. I walk the walk, but I also know that personal behavior alone won’t solve this challenge.

For too long, politicians who understand the threat have been too timid to speak up for fear of alienating one group of voters or another. But this crisis affects all of us, and the time for shying away from the issue is long past. As someone who works to defend the most vulnerable, I see how the climate crisis, extreme weather and rising energy costs have the biggest impact on those who can handle it the least. We have a responsibility to advocate unapologetically for policies that promote a clean energy future.

If elected, I will put the climate crisis back on the agenda, reversing Donald Trump’s ridiculous and stupid battle against clean energy, pushing to ensure that data centers use clean energy, and restoring American leadership to the fight against climate change.

For the last decade, Democrats in Washington have watched helplessly as a right-wing takeover of the Supreme Court has eviscerated the rights of ordinary Americans and showered fat cats and polluters with privileges they don’t deserve. We’ve seen justices sell their votes to the highest bidder. We’ve seen how Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas have bastardized the emergency docket process, turning it into a rightwing shadow docket that lets them strip away our rights under the cover of darkness.

No more. As a former assistant DA and a tenant’s rights attorney, I know that a legal system that constantly takes Goliath’s side over David’s is a recipe for inequality, injustice and decline. I will fight to reform the judicial system by instituting term limits, requiring the Supreme Court to abide by ethics laws, and by reining in the Alito-Thomas power grab that makes a mockery of the judicial process.

As millions of Americans see their premiums skyrocket, we need fighters in Washington who won’t give in at the first sign of pressure. We simply cannot let Donald Trump and the GOP get away with making health insurance unaffordable for working Americans.

But extending the subsidies is just the start: We need to take action to stop RFK Jr.’s war on children’s health and make sure all kids can get vaccines that are proven to reduce preventable diseases. We need to ensure that all children have access to healthy food options, especially in food deserts where such options aren’t always available. We need to protect Medicaid and reverse Trump’s cruel cuts to the program, so that all families can get the health care they need. We need to invest more in mental health, especially for young people, and explore innovative ways to address the risks of social media and cyberbullying. And we need to build on the Affordable Care Act so that universal health care is a reality in this country.

We need representatives who will not give up the fight, who have a proven record fighting for the most vulnerable, and who know how to communicate the stakes. I am the only candidate in this race who is ready to meet this moment.

In just one year, Donald Trump has remade America to look like his own businesses: tacky, nasty and bankrupt. He’s decimated the agencies that protect our health. He’s unleashed paramilitary thugs onto our streets. He’s exploded our national debt and made life unaffordable for ordinary people.

But not content to destroy just America, now he wants to ruin the rest of the world: Demolishing the alliances that have kept us safe for nearly a century. Letting thousands of kids die from preventable diseases by ending international aid. Trying to bomb his way to a Nobel Peace Prize. And using his office to enrich himself and his family at the expense of the security and prosperity of the American people.

In unprecedented times, the last thing we can afford is politicians who play by the same tired playbook that hasn’t worked in decades. We need an advocate who’s unrelenting in reclaiming Congress’ Article I powers from a runaway authoritarian. We need a fighter who will push Congress to work for all Americans. We need a communicator who can clearly define the stakes and is not afraid to take on a bully.

That’s why if elected, I will be Donald Trump’s worst nightmare, holding his feet to the fire every single day and restoring the legal and constitutional guardrails that Congress and the courts abandoned.

Donald Trump’s and Stephen Miller’s sick, immoral war on immigrants has terrorized communities, denied people due process and basic human rights, and exposed the racist rot at the core of this administration. Does anybody truly feel safer with ICE agents in masks roaming the streets with impunity?

Like all countries, we need personnel to enforce federal laws. But under Donald Trump, ICE has been so corrupted that it is unsalvageable. We need to tear it down and rebuild our immigration programs from the ground up, built on a culture that respects the Constitution, rule of law, and basic humanity.

As the son of a Haitian immigrant who came here to give my brother and me a shot at a good life, I believe we need a system that is fair, effective and is true to our identity as a nation of immigrants. And as someone who fights in court every day to protect the most vulnerable among us, I know that any legitimate immigration policy has to start with basic dignity. That’s why I will use my platform to end the Trump-Miller siege of immigrant communities and build a better system that balances security with opportunity.
